Berry Recruitment has appointed Soraya Simms as the operations manager of its growing branch in Birmingham.

The experienced recruiter heads a team of four with two other consultants expected to join the team in the coming months.

Soraya has seven years’ experience in the recruitment business and says that wages are rising due to the high demand for workers.

The branch covers the whole West Midlands and recruits for the industrial, office, hospitality and catering, cleaning and kitchen sectors.

It is part of Berry Recruitment Group (BRG), which operates from 36 locations across England and Wales.

Soraya said: “We recruit for both temporary and permanent roles and there is plenty of work out there.

“Demand for candidates is so high that wages are increasing and the economy looks really good and 2018 promises to be an excellent year.

“We plan to keep growing the branch and to expand into the construction and rail sectors.

“With the Commonwealth Games coming up the region will see a lot of investment so we aim to benefit from that.

“Berry Recruitment Group is very supportive and I think being family-owned makes a big difference.”

Lee Gamble, managing director of Berry Recruitment, said: “Soraya has a wealth of experience in the region and is already making an impact at the branch.

“We expect the branch to continue to grow to take advantage of the strong economic conditions in the West Midlands.

“Being a business with many branches means we are able to offer support and expertise when necessary, which is something other recruiters don’t always benefit from.”
