Berry Recruitment has appointed Kathy Rusher as the operations manager of its growing branch in Oxford.

The experienced recruiter heads a team of five with other consultants due to be added.

Kathy has spent the last eight years in recruitment and five as a divisional manager in a south Oxfordshire company so brings local knowledge to the position.

The branch recruits across the commercial sector, filling office-based roles including sales, marketing, HR, finance, IT, customer service, call centre and general admin positions.

It also has a catering and cleaning section and is planning an industrial desk.

The branch covers Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire and is part of Berry Recruitment Group (BRG).

BRG works from 36 locations across England and Wales and is a family-owned business.

Kathy said: “Finding candidates is the hardest part of recruitment in this area so we are utilising social media, local advertising and attending jobs fairs and networking events.

“We are also working with local colleges and universities and promoting candidate referrals.

“Building awareness of the Berry brand is important and is already paying dividends.

“We recruit for temporary, contract and permanent roles and with the economy strong we anticipate current employment trends to continue.

“I joined Berry Recruitment because they have a strong brand, invest in their people and offer excellent training.

“There is a great support network and everything is service driven – and that’s not always the case in recruitment.

“Everyone in the business is passionate about recruitment and we have big plans for the branch going forward.”

Lee Gamble, managing director of Berry Recruitment, said: “Kathy has already introduced a number of innovative practices which are having a positive effect.

“We anticipate that under Kathy’s management the branch will grow and expand into new areas.

“There is a great deal of potential in this region and Kathy and her growing team are poised to exploit it.”

BRG has recently announced a turnover of £65m in 2017 – up £3m on the previous year.
