Mental health is one of the most important conversations in the workplace. It affects every part of how people show up, perform, and feel at work. Pressure, pace, and constant change are part of working life, but they shouldn’t come at the cost of someone’s wellbeing.
Every year at Berry Recruitment, we give our team a May challenge aimed at boosting their mental health and raising money for charity.
Our 2026 challenge:
This year, we challenged everyone with a daily goal of 10,000 steps. For every day they succeeded, we’d donate to the
Mental Health Foundation, a leading UK charity dedicated to both managing and preventing mental ill health.
Everyone did a fantastic job of getting those steps in, walking and running around the Cotswolds, Denbies Vineyards, the Cornish coast, and even the beautiful beaches of Crete. They also visited places such as Kensington Gardens, Berkhamsted Castle, and the Lord’s Cricket Ground, and participated in Luton’s Park Run.
Together, they achieved over 2,420,000 steps throughout May and raised £1,000 for the Mental Health Foundation.
At Berry Recruitment, we believe that supporting mental health isn’t a once-a-year initiative; it’s an everyday responsibility. Creating a workplace where people feel safe, supported, and able to speak up early makes a real difference.
