A fantastic opportunity has become available for a quantity surveyor to work for a local authority based in Nursling.



This is an ongoing role with potential to go permanent for the right candidate. The working hours are Monday to Friday 37 hours a week and an hourly pay rate between £16.00 and £17.00.



This is a varied role as a quantity surveyor and your main duties will be:



  • Prepare, produce and submit tenders, estimates and quotations for large complex schemes

  • Negotiate and agree estimates with clients, consultants and contractors

  • Monitor relevant project budgets and provide regular monthly reports

  • Reconciling job costing information and invoicing/recharges to customers

  • Surveying for large scale repairs

  • Managing contractors - liaising with contractors on a daily basis to check all information given is correct and processing the invoices

  • Sometimes required to visit properties and carry out surveys (training will be given)



Candidate Requirements:



  • Construction based background is preferable - for example knowledge of building works matters and health & safety

  • Knowledge of Social Housing is preferable

  • Experience dealing with contractors is preferable

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams

  • HNC/NVQ3 in construction or significant experience

  • Relevant professional qualification such as CIOH, RICS or CIOB is desirable

  • Confident on the telephone - you will be speaking with contractors, clients and customers on a daily basis
