Berry Recruitment are assisting one of our national clients in recruiting for a hard facilities management manager.


The key purpose of this role is to manage the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems, plant and designated equipment of all building elements and fabrics.


You will also manage the maintenance team inc: Hard fm team leader, tradesman, specialist contractors and maintenance assistants (approx 12 in total)


As part of the role you will receive and provide general management level communications, complex technical information as well as financial and HR documentation.


The principal duties and responsibilities within the role are:



  • To ensure that the maintenance team comply with all H&S legislation

  • Ensure that all risk assessments are in place and are accessible to the maintenance team

  • Make sure that PPE is available and being worn

  • To ensure that all employees and contractors within your team are compliant and have correct work permits for site

  • To control financial commitments set out by the site CM and head of hard fm

  • Ensure that documentation and records are up to date for inclusion in monthly forecast and purchase summary

  • Delivery of output specification in respect of planned and reactive maintenance

  • Keep all help desk tasks updated

  • To be present and participate in Hard FM operational review meetings on site

  • Accurately produce monthly reports covering all obligations as per SLA in relation to Hard FM maintenance

  • To build and maintain effective working relationships with users of the service and other service managers

  • Ensure that all statutory compliance is up to date at all times

  • Assist in ensuring all reports and deliverables are supplies to the client on time in accordance with the services contract and project agreement


The ideal candidate for this position MUST have the following:



  • 5 years technical management experience

  • Minimum H.N.D in a building services subject

  • Knowledge of financial procedures e.g. preparing KPI's, WOR reports

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to interpret complex information in order to interrogate data

  • Good level of numeracy with an ability to understand and assist with budgets
