As Tea Room Supervisor, you will play a key role in creating a relaxing and joyful experience for all guests, many of whom visit not only for delicious treats but also to connect with the animals they care for. This role is perfect for someone who loves hospitality, thrives in a community-focused environment, and has a genuine passion for animal welfare. Your leadership will help ensure the tea room runs smoothly while supporting the charity's mission to provide a safe haven for animals in need.


Main Responsibilities



  • Oversee Daily Operations ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the tea room, maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation at all times.

  • Lead and support the team, supervise, train, and motivate front-of-house staff, fostering a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused working environment.

  • Deliver outstanding customer service provide a warm, welcoming experience for all visitors, many of whom come to enjoy both the tea room and the animals.

  • Manage stock and inventory monitor stock levels, place orders, and coordinate deliveries to ensure consistent availability of food, beverages, and supplies.

  • Ensure health & safety compliance uphold food hygiene standards and ensure full compliance with all health and safety regulations.

  • Handle cash and reporting manage daily takings, oversee the cash float, complete end-of-day cashing up, and report figures accurately to management.

  • Create and update an innovative, vegan menu with appropriate pricing that reflects the values of the charity.

  • Take responsibility for opening and closing procedures, ensuring all operational and security protocols are followed.

  • Oversee kitchen workflow, ensuring timely preparation and presentation of food in line with quality standards, this will include food preparation as a part of the role.

  • Manage staff and volunteer rotas, monitor working hours, and coordinate holiday requests to ensure adequate coverage and smooth operations.



Other Responsibilities:



  • Ensure all environmental health certifications are up to date and prepare for regular inspections.

  • Coordinate the annual stocktake, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

  • Liaise with senior management regarding special events, operational updates, and strategic planning.

  • Organise group bookings and events, ensuring smooth execution and excellent customer experience.

  • Provide weekly performance reports on tea room operations to the directors.

  • Foster clear and effective communication across all team members to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and strong prioritisation skills in a dynamic setting.


The ideal candidate:



  • Full UK Driving License (This is a must due to location)

  • Previous catering experience

  • Previous supervisor/management experience

  • Food Hygiene Certificate

  • Customer Service Experience
