About the Role


We are currently recruiting reliable and professional SIA Security Officers for our Summer Plan Project, running from late May 2026 through September 2026.


This is a frontline, customer-facing role focused on maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment across multiple railway station locations. Officers will play a key role in managing passenger safety, deterring antisocial behaviour, and supporting busy summer operations.


Key Responsibilities



  • Provide a strong and visible security presence across station premises

  • Monitor passenger activity and respond to any suspicious or unsafe behaviour

  • Manage and de-escalate antisocial behaviour professionally

  • Support crowd control during peak travel times and summer events

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of passengers, staff, and visitors

  • Work closely with station staff and team members

  • Log incidents, interventions, and observations accurately in line with procedures

  • Follow all safety, security, and operational protocols


What We’re Looking For



  • Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor)

  • Strong communication and conflict-management skills

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and assertive in challenging situations

  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with shifts

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and extended summer hours

  • Be able to finish at the allocated time and get home – no leaving early from shift.



Locations & Shift Patterns


We are recruiting across the following locations:



  • Herne Bay – Thursday to Sunday, 15:00–00:00

  • Broadstairs – Thursday to Sunday, 13:00–00:00


Additional ad hoc shifts are available in Margate for summer events (ideal for those looking for 1–2 extra shifts per week).


Pay & Benefits



  • £13.20 per hour (Monday–Saturday)

  • £15.20 per hour (Sundays)

  • Weekly pay
