School Cleaner


Location: Lanchester, County Durham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:30am - 2:30pm (20 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Contract: Temporary Ongoing (Sickness Cover)
Pay Frequency: Weekly


School Cleaner Required - Immediate Start


We are currently recruiting for a School Cleaner to work within a school based in Lanchester. This is a temporary ongoing position providing sickness cover, with the potential for a long-term assignment.


The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, and communal areas

  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors

  • Cleaning and sanitising washroom facilities

  • Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately

  • Dusting and wiping down surfaces

  • Ensuring all cleaning duties are completed to a high standard

  • Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times


Essential Requirements:



  • Previous cleaning experience is preferred

  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate issued within the last 12 months, or registered on the DBS Update Service

  • Completion of Safeguarding Training

  • Completion of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) Training

  • Completion of Ben's Law Training

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards
