Berry Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled Planned Maintenance Surveyor to join our client’s Housing Maintenance team on a Temp to Perm basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional to contribute to high-impact housing projects while progressing toward a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide expert advice on property and construction matters, including building defects, alterations, extensions, and renovations.

  • Act as Contract Administrator under JCT contract conditions, managing contracts up to and exceeding £500k.

  • Prepare feasibility studies, scheme designs, cost analyses, specifications, and timelines.

  • Draft and submit tender documents, quotations, and estimates under partnership frameworks and competitive tenders.

  • Monitor financial status of contracts, ensuring monthly cost reconciliations and value engineering processes.

  • Ensure compliance with Planning legislation, Building Regulations, Health & Safety, and CDM Regulations 2015.

  • Manage performance, programming, quality, and cost issues across multiple contracts.

  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, utilities, and external partners to maintain strong working relationships.




Skills & Experience Required:


Essential:



  • BTEC HNC in a Building-related subject.

  • Full exemption from RICS or CIOB exams and working towards/achieved full membership.

  • Substantial post-qualification experience in contract administration.

  • Strong knowledge of JCT contracts, CAD, Building Regulations, and Health & Safety legislation.

  • Financial management experience with JCT contracts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Full UK driving licence.


Desirable:



  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Access, and NBS software.

  • Project management qualification.

  • Knowledge of gas and electrical standards.

  • Understanding of issues affecting social landlords.




Problem Solving & Decision Making:



  • Exercise sound judgment on contract delivery, resource utilisation, and cost monitoring.

  • Responsible for Health & Safety compliance and risk assessments.

  • Adapt procedures to ensure cost-effective solutions in a flexible environment.




Communication & Working Conditions:



  • Regular face-to-face, written, and verbal communication with stakeholders.

  • Office-based under Smarter Working Policy with modern facilities.

  • May be required to carry out standby duties.
