HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver – ASAP Start



Pay: £17.25 per hour (weekly pay)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Contract: Until 31st December 2025 (potential extension)
Induction: 8 hours (date to be confirmed)
Start Date: ASAP




About the Role


We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team immediately. You will play a key role in delivering refuse and recycling services across Mid Sussex, ensuring safe and efficient operations while maintaining excellent customer service.




Key Responsibilities



  • Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections

  • Operate all machinery safely and effectively

  • Use safe lifting and manual handling techniques

  • Utilise in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed

  • Complete paperwork accurately and in real time

  • Conduct daily vehicle and machinery inspections before and after use

  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and equipment

  • Assist refuse loaders when required to ensure timely completion of routes

  • Maintain positive relations with the public and other road users




What We’re Looking For



  • Valid HGV Class 2 licence (maximum 6 points)

  • Driver CPC qualification

  • Ability and willingness to perform manual handling tasks

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated and proactive attitude

  • High-vis clothing and safety footwear required

  • Clean driving licence desirable




Additional Information



  • Overtime available after 40 hours

  • Induction: 8 hours

  • Contract initially until 31st December 2025, with potential extension
