Berry Recruitment is hiring! We require a GRP Composites Finisher to work for our client in South Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire.


We are seeking a skilled GRP Composites Finisher to join our client in South Oxfordshire. As a GRP Composites Finisher, you will play a vital role in the finishing and repair of gel coat surfaces and GRP composite mouldings to produce high-quality components for our busy boat manufacturing line.



Salary: £30,000 per annum


Location: South Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire


Hours : 7am – 3pm Monday to Friday


Start date: ASAP



About the role:



  • Checking and identifying defects requiring rework.

  • Repairing gel coat surfaces to remove imperfections/joint lines from split mould tools.

  • Fairing of surfaces.

  • Polishing gel coat surfaces to achieve a high level of surface finish.

  • Trimming GRP components using air saws, routers, and diamond cutting discs, if required.

  • Sanding and finishing cut edges using abrasive papers.

  • Maintaining and promoting high standards of workmanship.

  • Assisting in other areas of the manufacturing process as directed by the Team Leader for this section.

  • Basic housekeeping duties, including maintaining a tidy workstation and working area.

  • Being accountable for your own work.

  • Correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Upholding company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and reporting any shortfalls.


About you:



  • Previous experience of finishing GRP or paint finishes/detailing.

  • Proficiency in applying final surface treatments across multiple industries including construction, marine, automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, infrastructure, and sports/recreation

  • Expertise in sanding, polishing, painting, and gel coat application for achieving quality finishes on GRP composite materials

  • Good team player, able to work independently or as part of a team when necessary.

  • Previous experience of working within the Marine industry or similar high-quality-driven industry advantageous but not essential.
