A local authority in Harlow is seeking a Governance Administrator to join the Property Directorate on a 12‑month temporary contract. This role is on‑site for 3 days per week, increasing to 4.

Role Overview


You will provide high‑quality administrative and governance support, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations, accurate record‑keeping, and effective coordination across the service.


Pay: Either £156.19 to £200 per day dependant on the engagement type



Key Responsibilities




  • Organise and schedule meetings, including room bookings




  • Manage calendars and appointments




  • Take accurate meeting minutes and distribute actions




  • Prepare and proofread reports, correspondence, and documentation




  • Maintain electronic and paper filing systems




  • Monitor shared inboxes and respond to enquiries




  • Update databases, records, and tracking systems




  • Support governance processes and compliance activities




  • Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders to meet deadlines




  • Provide general administrative support to the wider team





About You




  • Experience in administration or business support




  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail




  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively




  • Confident minute‑taker with strong documentation skills




  • Excellent written and verbal communication




  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)




  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team
