Gas Services Manager – Southampton City Council

Rate: £24.46 per hour PAYE
Location: Southampton
Contract Length: Minimum 12 months (possible extension)
Start: As soon as possible following vetting & interview
Hours:

• Monday–Thursday: 7:30am – 4:15pm


• Friday: 7:30am – 3:15pm

About the Role

Berry Recruitment is proud to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Gas Services Manager to join the Mechanical & Electrical Services team at Southampton City Council.

If you are seeking a new professional challenge, this position provides the opportunity to deliver significant projects across the local area while leading and advancing high‑quality gas service operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of a high‑quality gas service strategy across responsive, planned, capital and commercial workstreams.


• Ensure all City Council policies, standards and statutory requirements are fully met.


• Manage multi‑trade teams, acting as the lead for trade‑specific issues and overseeing the voids process.


• Assist in the effective management of the Gas section, including staff, contractors, suppliers and administrative functions.


• Contribute to the successful delivery of several Mechanical & Electrical projects across the region.
  

Requirements

• Proven leadership experience within gas services or Mechanical & Electrical environments.


• Ability to start quickly following vetting and interview.

• Enhanced DBS required for this role. (can be completed after a successful interview).

• Full driving licence and access to a car (travel is required).
