We’re looking for a hardworking Driver’s Mate to support delivery operations and assist drivers with loading, unloading, and customer interactions. This is a physically demanding but rewarding role that suits someone who enjoys hands‑on work, teamwork, and working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods safely and efficiently


• Help plan the order of deliveries and unloads to ensure smooth workflow


• Communicate professionally with customers on-site


• Navigate or direct the driver when required


• Carry items into customer premises, including heavy or bulky goods


• Ensure goods are handled with care to avoid damage


• Support the driver with completing delivery paperwork or digital logs


• Maintain a clean, tidy vehicle and help with basic vehicle checks


• Follow health & safety procedures at all times

Requirements

• Good level of physical fitness (the role involves heavy lifting)


• Punctual, and willing to work early starts or long shifts


• Strong communication and teamwork skills


• Positive attitude and willingness to support the driver and wider team


• Ability to follow instructions and work safely


• Experience in a similar role is beneficial but not essential

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience in removals, courier work, or warehouse operations


• Knowledge of manual handling best practices


• Good local area knowledge
