Description:

1. To carry out both programmed and responsive refuse & recycling requirements daily with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job.
2. To understand Contract requirements, the specification of all refuse & recycling.
3. To identify and understand key performance indicators and ensure that these are met.
4. To regularly report to line manager progress on works and any matters which arise affecting delivery.
5. To complete works as per schedule, routes, and procedures issues, updating/adjusting work routines to deal with and incorporate interruptions such as road closures, traffic problems, weather conditions, and quantities of detritus/litter present, ensuring programmed rounds are completed, and duly approved by your supervisor prior to leaving work.
6. Use of in-cab technology/mobile devices as directed by the Contract. Completing relevant templates and submitting worksheets in real time.
7. To work as part of the team, putting forward suggestions and ideas for improvements in service provision.
8. Responsible for the daily inspection and reporting procedure for machinery, prior and on completion of usage, including vehicles.
9. Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
10. To ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are met.
11. To ensure standards of work are of the highest order and in accordance with professional and contractual requirements. Undertaking all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to the receptacles and/or articles left for removal. These may include but not be limited to bags, boxes, loose items, and wheeled bins and may involve regular, intense, and lengthy periods of physical effort and exposure in all weather conditions.
12. To discharge waste/refuse at the delegated tipping site ensuring actions both on the road and within the facility are in accordance with both statutory and local traffic management measures, reporting any incident or activity that has the potential to impact upon the environment.
13. To weigh and record all waste discharged ensuring waste transfer notes, receipts, and/or Weigh Bridge tickets are returned to the supervisor where applicable.
14. To undergo specific training to improve skill levels and knowledge of Contract requirements as and when defined training is identified as being required or available.
15. To maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly members of the public.
16. To always maintain a presentable appearance.
· HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicles) licence; C Driving Licence
· Driving licence with 6 points or less
· Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
· Some previous experience in Refuse & Recycling desirable
