CATERING ASSISTANT JOB WITNEY – Temp to Perm

Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a Reliable and Friendly Catering Assistant to work for a company in Wallingford

Role: Catering Assistant

Salary: £13.62 - £14.45 Per Hour

Location: Wallingford

Hours: 07:30–15:30, Monday to Thursday (Fridays are also available if preferred).

Key Responsibilities of the Catering Assistant:

• Assist with basic food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning items.


• Set up and clear down service areas, buffets, and dining spaces.


• Serve food and beverages in a professional, courteous manner.


• Ensure all areas are kept clean, tidy, and compliant with food safety standards.


• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as required.


• Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels for catering needs.


• Follow all health, hygiene, and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage.


• Support the catering team with event setup, onsite service, and pack-down.


• Provide excellent customer service and respond to guest or staff requests promptly.

About you:

• Level 2 Food Hygiene required


• Previous catering, hospitality, or kitchen experience preferred but not essential.


• Understanding of basic food hygiene practices (Food Safety Level 1/2 is a plus).


• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


• Strong teamwork and communication skills.


• Good time management and attention to detail.

Physically able to stand for long periods and carry out manual handling tasks.
