Brake Press Setter/Operator (Amada)

Permanent Position
Up to £15.00 per hour + 20% Shift Allowance (Total £18.00 per hour)
Monday–Friday | 1:00pm Start | Finish Times Vary (Typically 9pm–11pm)
Friday Fixed: 1:00pm–7:00pm

Berry Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Brake Press Setter/Operator on behalf of a well‑established manufacturing company. This is a permanent role offering long‑term stability, excellent benefits, and competitive pay including a 20% shift allowance.

The company operates a modern sheet‑metal fabrication environment and is looking for someone who can confidently set, program, and operate an Amada press brake to high standards. You’ll be joining a supportive production team where quality, precision, and safety are at the heart of everything they do.

Key Responsibilities

• Program and set up an Amada HRB170‑3 press brake (or similar) using 2D/3D simulation software.


• Operate the machine to bend and shape metal sheet to exact drawing specifications.


• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.


• Carry out quality checks to ensure all finished parts meet required tolerances.


• Work collaboratively with the production team to improve efficiency and workflow.


• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment at all times.

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience operating and programming an Amada press brake or similar machinery.


• Strong mechanical understanding and familiarity with different materials and tooling.


• Ability to use hand tools confidently for fabrication tasks.


• Good basic maths skills for accurate measuring and calculations.


• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality work.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Solid understanding of health & safety requirements in a fabrication environment.


• Must live within a reasonable daily commute of the site.
