Van Driver (3.5 Tonne)


Location: Darlington
Pay Rate: £13.31 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary/Agency (subject to client requirements)
Start Date: To be confirmed, potentially required at short notice depending on vehicle availability.


About the Role


We are currently recruiting for a reliable and professional 3.5 Tonne Van Driver to support operations in the Darlington and Teesside area. This role involves the safe and timely transportation of goods, along with loading and unloading duties.


Key Responsibilities



  • Safely operate a 3.5 tonne vehicle in accordance with road traffic regulations.

  • Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.

  • Load and unload goods as required.

  • Ensure deliveries and collections are completed efficiently and on schedule.

  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.

  • Comply with company policies, including health and safety procedures.


Requirements



  • Full UK Category B Driving Licence.

  • Successful completion of a driving assessment.

  • Previous commercial driving experience is advantageous but not essential.

  • Maximum of 3-6 penalty points considered (all endorsements must be disclosed).

  • Good communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to undertake manual handling and loading/unloading duties.


Requirements


The successful candidate will be required to:



  • Pass a DBS check.

  • Undertake Drug & Alcohol testing.

  • Complete any site-specific induction or training requirements.


Additional Information



  • This role involves driving a 3.5 tonne vehicle.

  • CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card are not required for this position.

  • Flexibility may be required due to operational demands and changing start dates.
