Less than a year after opening its doors, Berry Recruitment in Darlington is now working out of brand new spacious offices – and is looking to recruit itself.

Manager Dani Gallone says there is plenty of employment available in the region which is why the growth has been so rapid.

The number of jobs indicates a buoyant economy with businesses looking to invest and develop.

The experienced recruiter’s branch has relocated to Post House Wynd, the well-known and historic cobbled street in a central location.

It recruits in the catering, hospitality, industrial and driving sectors and has developed a long list of clients since it opened its doors in February.

The branch is one of 36 across the country owned by Berry Recruitment Group (BRG) and is its first in the North East.

Dani said: “We have grown our own staff already and are now looking for other recruiters to join us, such is the work available.

“We also now have excellent, town-centre offices so we are getting far more walk-ins from candidates.

“All the sectors we work in are busy and this indicates a strong local economy – and we are busy placing candidates in both temporary and permanent roles.

“We are also moving into the commercial and financial sectors, for which there is a clear demand.

“As well as using traditional methods we also utilise social media to find candidates and this is proving highly successful.

“Where some agencies struggle to find candidates for certain roles – such as chefs – we are able to locate them.

“In the longer term we are confident of continued growth because there is no sign that business will be less reliant on high quality recruitment.”
