HGV Technician/Mechanical Fitter
We have an opportunity for the right candidate to work in a market leading business within the transport department.
We are looking for an experience HGV Technician/Mechanical Fitter to join the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for repair, maintenance and service of the fleet of vehicles based in Darlington.
Duties will include :
Diagnostic fault finding
Liaising with service providers for technical data
Deal with breakdown providers
Parts ordering
Welding
Body work repairs
Six weekly PMI inspections
Preparing wagons to MOT standard
Provide cover for Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Technician with a sound knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic an electrical systems and can ensure that work is carried out in accordance with all statutory obligations, company policies and the company operator’s licence. The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative with clear decision making in a fast moving environment.
The role is working 5 days over 7, 40 hours per week plus overtime with a start time of 7:00am. The company offers a marketing leading benefits package including a great holiday allowance, health and lifestyle benefits and an employee well-being package.
Class 1 licence preferred but not essential.
Pay rate is £16.96 per hour, to be reviewed after successfully completing your probation period (12 weeks).
For the first 12 weeks you will be paid weekly for the hours you have worked the week before.
This role will incorporate some weekend working on a rota basis.
