I am working with one of my established clients who is looking to recruit a professional & experienced Test Engineerwith specific knowledge of Radio Systems (PMR, TETRA, DMR)to work within their R&D Department.

My Client is a leading radio communications company, which has an extensive history and prides itself on its reputation for quality, innovation, flexibility and performance. The company is a developer and manufacturer of radio communications equipment as well as a radio systems integrator offering turn-key solutions to its customers. They service both the government and commercial markets with particular expertise within the public safety, mining, utilities, special events, and transport and rail sectors.

This represents a fantastic opportunity to be working for an international provider in an exciting & burgeoning sector of the Telecoms market.

  1. Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis of test requirements including relevant digital radio standards such as P25 and DMR, identification of test cases and preparation of written specifications

  • Implementation of automated test cases in scripting languages, debugging and validation

  • Execution of completed test cases to identify issues with software, recording, verification and closure of issues found in a tracking system

  • Assistance with design reviews, planning of project activities and progress reporting

  • Provide Test Support for bugs/issues reported by Production, Service, Product Managers and Customers

  1. Key Requirements & Experience

  • A minimum of an HND in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Radio Systems (PMR, TETRA, DMR)

  • 2-5 years’ experience in script-based software development for communications product testing

  • Understanding of the STLC methodology

  • Understanding of the agile methodology

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to plan for and achieve agreed objectives

  • Experience in the use of standard communications test instruments

  • Understanding of standard methods tools used to manage issue reporting and version control (e.g. Bugzilla, CVS etc)
