Overall Purpose:



  • Supervise and manage day-to-day composting operations.

  • Control and direct staff and contractors.

  • Carry out operations such as shredding, screening, turning, and loading compost.


Key Responsibilities:



  1. Maintain site cleanliness and safety for all employees and contractors.

  2. Operate plant and machinery, perform daily inspections, and complete necessary paperwork.

  3. Conduct routine servicing and minor repairs, and assist with other repairs.

  4. Plan and organize composting operations with the Operations Manager across multiple sites.

  5. Provide high-level customer service to both external and internal customers.

  6. Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE in line with health and safety requirements.

  7. Direct and control waste delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.

  8. Perform site inspections and monitoring, and maintain accurate records.

  9. Ensure compliance with site permits, planning, and health & safety laws.

  10. Liaise with regulatory inspectors as needed.

  11. Follow company policies and procedures, focusing on customer service, health and safety, and equality and diversity.
