I am looking to recruit an experienced SharePoint Developer/Manager for an Independent, not for profit research centre for environmental science.


This role will initially be working from home, but will require the successful candidate to return to the office when required.


Ideally, you will be based in Oxford, but can also work out of their offices based in Edinburgh and Lancaster.


SharePoint Developer/Manager Responsibilities:



  • Manage the Sharepoint environment and maintain availability and response times.

  • Work collaboratively with teams across the business to develop and implement Sharepoint applications and sites.

  • Extending SharePoint functionality with forms, web parts, and application technologies.

  • Troubleshooting Sharepoint issues and functionality

  • Maintaining and updating SharePoint applications.

  • Providing systems training to staff and customers.

  • Develop and support the implementation of the new Intranet in partnership with the communications team.

  • Support and enable the Records Management Policy and Procedures in concert with the Library Services Manager

  • Lead in the technical development and maintenance of the SharePoint instance, including requirements gathering and developing appropriate solutions using Microsoft Office 365 SharePoint and the rest of the Microsoft Office 365 product set

  • Showcase the potential for the Sharepoint/Office 365 platform and identify opportunities for business efficiency improvements and implement those solutions in collaboration across the business



SharePoint Developer Candidate Specification:



  • Practical SharePoint Online product experience - configuring, administration, development and deploying solutions

  • Experience of developing SharePoint sites/pages

  • Good front end/CSS skills and experience

  • Experience of integrating SharePoint online with third party applications

  • Strong practical knowledge of Office 365 development apps

  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint Application models

  • Strong practical knowledge of SharePoint Search Service, User Profile Service and other Service Applications

  • Strong practical experience in the use of PowerShell.

  • Experience of undertaking SharePoint BAU Admin activities

  • Support and enable the Records Management Policy and Procedures in concert with the Library Services Manager

  • Lead in the technical development and maintenance of the SharePoint instance, including requirements gathering and developing appropriate solutions using Microsoft Office 365 SharePoint and the rest of the Microsoft Office 365 product set

  • Showcase the potential for the Sharepoint/Office 365 platform and identify opportunities for business efficiency improvements and implement those solutions in collaboration across the busines
