Berry Recruitment are looking for a School Travel Admin Assistant to join a local authority based at the central Southampton office.


This is a contract role for 3 months with a possible extension, working Monday to Friday 8am-5pm and an hourly pay rate of £13.79.


The main purpose of this role is to play a key administrative role in supporting the School Travel Service.


Main Duties:



  • Carry out administrative activities to support the provision of safe, efficient and effective school travel services for children and young persons from 5-25 years of age

  • Support activities for the travel planning and daily operational activities to deliver effective travel arrangements

  • Raising purchase orders

  • Ensure all school travel records in the school travel database are accurate and up to date

  • Answer and manage daily enquiries and manage issues including timings, amendments, cancellations, complaints, accidents and safeguarding issues

  • Process travel budgets and bus pass applications accurately

  • On a rota basis provide AM and PM office cover to support early morning and late afternoon travel


Candidate Requirements:



  • Administration experience is essential

  • Computer literate and experience using Microsoft Office

  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
