A Quality Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that through management and implementation of sites QMS in compliance to nationally recognised standards (GFSI/BRC), products produced adhere to and meet all food safety, quality, legislative requirements including those set out by customers specifically.



In order to ensure this is achieved the Quality supervisor must be proactive, objective, driven and maintain an approachable personality whilst maintaining impartiality with regards food safety over quantity.



Reporting directly to the Managing Director the associated tasks / duties of this role will include but not exhaustively:




  • Review, Maintain and implement improvements to processes, procedures and update as appropriate the sites Quality Management System (QMS) through control of the document management system whilst ensuring communication to the site of all updates.




  • Participate in the maintenance and review of the sites HACCP system as part of the HACCP team.




  • Maintain working knowledge through information sources to be the sites subject expert on all matters relating to the Global Standard – Food Safety (BRC and its versions)




  • Ensure through commitment the sites ability to achieve and maintain the highest levels of certification standards by leading the audit processes whilst ensuring all non-conformities are closed out appropriately.




  • Create, maintain and update the sites audit schedules / programmes (1st party) to ensure compliance to all requirements.




  • Conduct as appropriate 1st party audits of the sites QMS and 2nd party audits where required or appropriate of suppliers.




  • Support the NPD department in ensuring that specifications are in place and up to date for all raw material products and finished products on site.




  • Review, maintain and update the approved supplier database.




  • Manage the customer complaints system to ensure customer complaints are investigated in a timely manner with particular focus to customer satisfaction.




  • Manage the sites Pest control system, including site visits, as a point of contact for contracted services etc.




  • Chair and minute the monthly Food Safety Committee Meetings (FSQ)




  • Undertake bespoke projects, tasks, duties and actions commensurate with the position.
