Purchasing Assistant - Part Time

A fantastic opportunity is available for a part time Purchasing Assistant to join a well established company based in Totton that are a leading supplier of products to care homes, NHS and social services.

This is a permanent role working 24 hours a week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with a half hour lunch break. It may be considered splitting 24 hours across 4 days for the right candidate.

The salary is £22,000.

Main Duties:

  • Purchase order creation and submission to suppliers

  • Modify delivery dates within internal systems for overdue purchase orders

  • Obtain supplier quotes and prices

  • Identify and offering best price

  • Prioritise orders in line with contract budgets

  • Resolving queries in regards to orders and products

  • Troubleshooting invoice and pricing discrepancies for materials and services

  • Working closely with the accounts team

  • General procurement office duties including day to day admin as necessary

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous purchasing experience is preferred

  • Previous administration experience is preferred

  • Confident user of Microsoft Office

  • Communication skills verbally and written

  • Be able to work independently and part of a team

  • Working toward CIPS or similar qualification would be advantageous
