Import Clerk



Area: Birmingham



My Client is a well established food company with a significant presence in branded spices, pulses, canned ambient products and speciality Asian ingredients. They are looking for an experienced Import Clerk to join their busy Company.



As an Import Clerk, you will be responsible for:



  • Dealing with Clearing Agents - HMRC

  • Duty rates etc. Deferment account

  • Port to Warehouse transportation

  • Import Document checking (invoices, Bill of Lading, duty rates/sheets)

  • Incoming shipment schedule

  • Liaising with warehouse and external storage for booking in.

  • Knowledge of applying for an Import License.

  • Confident in dealing with figures of weight, volume and currency

  • IT skills (Microsoft Suite)



Experience in dealing with commodities of pulses, spices, rice, or other food products would be of advantage but is not a necessity.



Benefits and Package:


Full Time Position


39 Hours a week


Salary: £19k per annum
