Berry Recruitment National Branch are currently looking for Chef de Parties in Birmingham.

About the Role -

An exciting opportunity arise for a Chef Supervisor to work within our catering team here at HMP Birmingham, B18 4AS, this is a role that involves working with & supervising our Prisoner Workforce.
This role is suited to a Chef with a conscientious and innovative approach who will develop and has the commitment to deliver exceptional service in line with our customers and client demands. This is a customer facing role and requires a proactive individual.

What you will be doing -

• Work with a team of chefs and enhanced inmates to deliver meals, 3 times a day


• Supervising and assisting enhanced inmates in the kitchen


• Work alongside prisoner work forces and assist them in cooking meals and preparing food


• You will be responsible for the preparation of basic quality foods within a set pre ordered menu


• Effective and efficient food production in line with recipe sheets


• Full knowledge of all menu items served


• Ensure the kitchen is clean and tidy


• Fill in all relevant paperwork and due diligence forms

The ideal candidate -

• Undertake relevant training as required


• Experience


• Must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years and have legal right to work


• Relevant culinary qualification


• Must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks


• Previous supervisory experience


• Experience working in a large scale kitchen
