A charitable company finding employment and housing opportunities for the homeless people of east London. Our client works with more than a thousand homeless and vulnerably housed people a year, offering an integrated service of crisis support, advice, recovery and learning and training programmes.

The right candidate

Experienced in Social Enterprise, baking and/or working in a professional kitchen you will have great organisational and time-management skills. You will be confident to oversee the running of Rise our Social Enterprise, including logistics, supervision of our Bakery Peers and continuing the production of our high quality products. You will be passionate about using food as a means to help people overcome exclusion, isolation and poor health. You will have the drive and ambition to support the development of our successful social enterprise to make positive lasting changes in people’s lives.

  • Ability to coach entry level staff in baking and basic food hygiene

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to manage expenditure/budgets

  • An understanding of social enterprise networks and good practice in the field

  • Ability to work autonomously with some guidance from senior managers

  • Experience of working as part of a team to achieve cross organisational goals

  • Excellent IT skills, verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines

  • Ability to work outside of normal office hours (if applicable to the role)

  • Knowledge and understanding of the homelessness sector

  • Possess a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or higher; or the willingness to take on such training
